Durgavathy Educational Trust is a registered organisation, registered on 08.11.2006 under the Indian Trust Act. “Sunshine” Matriculation High School was started in 2007 under Durgavathy Educational Trust, at Mehta Nagar, Chennai with the objective of providing quality education to the urban marginal and poor students, since then providing English medium education service to socially and economically backward students in a great way. After 16 years of service in education, Durgavathy Educational Trust is planned to start the service for the elderly, and started the construction work for SunShine Old Age Home on May 2022, in Kiloy Village, Sriperumbudur, our home for the elderly was inaugurated on the 5th of May 2023.
Our Sunshine Old Age Home has the facility to accommodate 200 senior citizens with elder friendly construction systems, dormitory, private rooms for couples, in-house clinic, kitchen, and qualified staff to care for the elderly. Our highest goal is to make them live a peaceful life with the best physical and mental health for the rest of their life. It is important to note that all our services for senior citizens are provided free of cost.

We aim to offer comprehensive support, medical care, and recreational activities, while advocating for their rights and collaborating with government agencies.

Our mission is to provide free, quality integrated care services, including food and accommodation, to impoverished and vulnerable elderly individuals. We aim to ensure their independence, dignity, individuality, equal participation, and quality of life within a safe and supportive environment.
